Reference files, studies, and memoranda on international trade policy, law, treaties, and promotion of foreign economic development compiled by the NFTC's Committee on International Trade Policy, also known as the Trade Policy Committee. Records include United Nations and U.S. government circulars and publications concerning negotiations at the United Nations' Havana Conference on Trade and Employment, along with related NFTC memoranda, correspondence and publications concerning the position of the NFTC and other U.S. trade groups regarding the negotiations and the proposed establishment of the International Trade Organization. Includes copies of testimony by NFTC executives and representatives of other US trade groups before various Congressional subcommittees and special commissions; reports of committees and commissions, including the Randall, Fairless, Straus, Rockefeller and Bell Commissions. Records also include reference files on trade agreements and copies of U.S. treaties and agreements with different countries, including Soviet Bloc, European, Latin American, Asian, and Middle Eastern nations, with related press clippings, memoranda, and White House and Department of State press releases. Some records relate to organizational matters and arrangements for meetings of the Trade Policy Committee.
